Gabriel Gurley is a community college instructor and
technical specialist with a passion for education. As
an instructor, students have recommended the use of
his handouts over the course adopted textbooks due to
his concise, easy-to-understand explanations of the
material being taught.
Gabriel began his academic career over 7 years ago as
an adjunct instructor for a community college in
North Carolina. Courses taught included basic
computing, spreadsheets and web design. Within a
year, Gabriel was selected to teach Network
Administration courses within the college's two-year
Information Systems program. He subsequently became a
program administator for a college, where he provided
leadership in developing the Continuing Education
Division's first certificate program in Publishing
and Web Design. Upon relocating to New York, Gabriel
joined the State University of New York system as a
Computer Technical Specialist for a liberal arts
program.
Gabriel has held an Apple Certified Technical
Coordinator certification for nearly 5 years, has
used the Macintosh platform for 14 years and the
Linux platform for over 6 years. He is also a Gold
Level assessor for the skills-based INGOTs office
productivity certification in the United States and a
certified instructor for the Rural Entrepreneurship
Through Action Learning (REAL) program.
